Our Rules and Regulations

• Children are admitted at the beginning of a session in nursery section. Admissions in other classes are subject to vacancies.
• Parents / Guardians desiring admission of their wards should look up the Notice Board in the month of November for guidance regarding admission procedure.
• Parents are needed to fill in the admission Form with utmost accuracy. No subsequent changes will be permitted.
• No gratification or donation of any kind is accepted by any member of the staff for application forms, or admission. Any attempt to do so on behalf of candidate would be an insult and will automatically debar the candidate from obtaining admission.
• A candidate who has attended a recognized school is eligible to get admission to the school if he / she furnishes the child’s transfer certificate at the time of joining, provided the child gets through the test.
• At the time of admission, Photocopy of the Birth Certificate issued by the Corporation / Municipality attested by a gazetted officer is mandatory.

To facilitate peaceful and serene initiation of the proceedings for the day, three tier Morning Assembly is held for:

  • Pre-Junior Section (Nursery to Class II)
  • Junior Section (Classes III to V)
  • Middle Section (Classes VI to VIII)
  • Senior Section (Class IX to XII)

The Assembly comprises of Prayers in, Hindi, Bengali and English; deliverance of speeches on ethical values, with News Headlines for the day and instilling reverence for the nation with National Anthem.

Boys
Nursery to Class V: Nursery to Class V: Trousers/Full sleeves (winter) ocean blue trousers, white and sky checks shirts (half sleeves), plain white socks, plain black shoes, school tie (Class I & above), school belt, white canvas shoes (on P.T. days only), house t-shirts (on P.T. days Classes III to V), Nevi blue pullover with ‘V’ neck (no design). Class VI & above: ocean blue trousers, white and sky checks shirts (full sleeves with collar buttons & left side pocket), white socks, plain black shoes with laces, school belt, school tie, white canvas shoes (on P.T. days only), house t-shirts (on P.T. days only), Nevi blue pullover with ‘V’ neck, Nevi Blue Blazer (Class 9 to 12)

Regulations for Boys’ uniform:
• Shirts and trousers must be clean and ironed.
• Shoes, both black and white canvas must be cleaned and polished every day.
• No hair styling is allowed. Hair must be trimmed regularly and combed properly.
• Tie, belt and identity card must be worn every day.
• If the child is not properly and neatly dressed, he will not be allowed to attend classes on that day.

Girls
Nursery to Class V: Ocean Blue frock, school belt, plain white socks, plain black shoes, white and sky checks shorts & white half sleeves shirts (on P.T. days only) , house t-shirts (on P.T. days Classes III to V), school tie, Nevi Blue cardigan with ‘V’ neck (no design) Class VI & above: Ocean Blue frock, school belt, plain white socks, plain black shoes, white and sky checks shorts & white half sleeves shirts (on P.T. days only) , house t-shirts (on P.T. days Classes III to V), school tie, Nevi Blue cardigan with ‘V’ neck (no design), Nevi Blue Blazer (Class 9 to 12)

Regulations for Girls’ uniform:
• Hems of skirts must be knee length.
• Jewellery, nail polish, fancy hair bands, clips and mehendi are not permitted. Round, plain black hair band is permitted. Fancy watches are not allowed. Watches with black straps are allowed.
• Hair must not be worn “loose” unless it is very short. If hair is long enough to be plaited or tied back then the child must do so. Hair “styles” are not permitted.
• Shoes: Black shoes with one strap across the in slip (ballerina type) are prescribed for all classes. High heels and platform heels will not be allowed. Plain white keds are compulsory for P.T. classes.
• Cardigans: Maroon cardigan with ‘V’ neck (no design) is compulsory for classes Nursery to Class V.
• Blazers: Maroon blazers with the school crest, are compulsory for classes VI to VIII.
• Socks: White, plain knit. Plain white socks must be worn with P.T. uniform.
• P.T. uniform – divided skirts, house t-shirts must be (bought only from the authorized tailor). If the child is not in the correct uniform as prescribed or is in untidy uniform she will not be allowed to attend classes for that day.

• School begins with the morning assembly and students must be in time.
• Every student must carry the school diary daily
• Students will not be allowed to leave the school campus during school hours except with permission.
• Students are to address their teachers and all members of the school staff with due respect and politeness.
• On their way to home from school, students must behave well.
• Mobile phones are strictly forbidden in the school premises. Fancy items such as electronic gadgets (watches, toys, digital diaries, i-pods, calculators etc.) are not permitted.
• Any damage to school property must be made good by the students concerned. Students are instructed not to touch or damage the “Smart Boards”, otherwise heavy fines would be imposed on them.
• Students are responsible for the safe custody of their own belongings e.g. books, cardigans, bags etc. should bear the name of the owner.
• Every student is expected to participate willingly in the co-curricular activities considering himself /herself fortunate for being granted the opportunity to nurture their hidden talents.
• Prefects are expected to carry out their duties with utmost sincerity or else serious steps will be taken against them.
• Students must speak only in English in the school campus.
• Seniors are expected to lend a helping hand to the juniors keeping in mind the values inculcated in the school.

• Children must attend school punctually and regularly. Late arrivals will be severely dealt with and will be considered as breach of discipline and the child will not be allowed to attend school on that day.
• Parents should also ensure that the child does not develop the habit of keeping away from the school on trivial matters. • A pupil will be eligible to appear in the Final Examination if she/he has completed 75% attendance.
• Students are required to be present on the last day and re-opening day before and after long vacation.
• Leave to a student for absence is granted only on the application addressed to the Principal through the class teacher submitted duly signed by the Parents.
• The period of the leave with reason should also be recorded in the regularity record of the diary by the parent with signature.
• In case of illness a medical fitness certificate must be attached with the application at the time of joining. Long absence of the diary by the parent with signature.

• In case of infectious and contagious diseases like conjunctivitis, measles, mumps and chicken pox, the quarantine period specified below must be observed.

• Conjunctivitis – 3 days
• Measles & Mumps – 14 days
• Chicken Pox – 21 days

• Strict silence and order must be observed by all.
• All articles and personal belongings must be left outside while entering the library.
• Books exclusively kept for consultation are not to be taken out of the library. They remain available to all students at all time.
• Before leaving the library the students should make sure to submit the books.
• All magazines, reference books or books used while in the library must be kept back in proper place.
• Books borrowed from the library must be returned directly to the librarian, they must not be circulated.
• If any defect or damage is noticed in a book that has been borrowed, the librarian should be notified.
• Books lost/damaged must be replaced by the borrower.
• No fine will be charged for books overdue if a letter is produced showing that the borrower has been absent for a valid reason.
• No books may be retained during the long vacation.
• Library captains from every class will collect and keep the books in the cupboards or shelves in proper order.
• The children may carry their own pocket dictionaries to the library.
• The children should devote quality time during the library classes.
• Children are expected to handle all books with care.

• Breach of any of the regulations of conduct during examination or indiscipline in/outside the hall or the use of unfair means, if found subsequently, will call for the cancellation of the particular paper and the student concerned will be awarded no marks at all.
• A student guilty of disorderly conduct or responsible for causing any kind of disturbance in or near the examination room is liable to be barred from appearing in subsequent papers.
• A student is not allowed to have in his/her possession any book, pocket book, notes or papers whatsoever during the examination.
• A student who fails to secure promotion may be asked to leave the school. However, he/she be allowed to repeat the same class once only. A student who fails twice in two consecutive years must be withdrawn.
