Bedotrayee Ghosh of class VII C has secured 2nd rank in Mann Se Mastishk Tak Lockdown Activity - 1 conducted by VVM in the month of June, 2020

Shreya Khemani of class VII D participated in the Regional Semi Finals of Young Chef Junior Contest 2020, organised by IIHM, Kolkata on 31st July, 2020 and was qualified for the Zonal Finals. Due to pandemic situation the competition was held on a virtual platform in which around 90 students from various schools participated.

A virtual celebration of 25th Edition of "The Telegraph School Awards for Excellence 2020" was done by I.I.H.M., Kolkata in the month of December, 2020. On this occasion, Aneek Chowdhury of class 6 has been awarded with "The Surrendra Paul Memorial Award" for courage. And Mrs.Soma Bandopadhyay, mother of Debarpan Bandopadhyay (of class XI) received "The Abhirup Bhadra Memorial - Thank You Baba-Ma Award".

A Handwriting Olympiad was organised by International Handwriting Olympiad Organisation in the month of January, 2020. In this competition Titas Samanta of Upper Infant, Debarka Das of class 2, Ayushman Das of class 3, Avigyaa Hazra of class 4 and Prapti Karmakar of class 7 received Best Handwriting Olympiad Award. The winners were awarded with a certificate and a medal.

A Virtual School Fest titled 'Sangam' was organised by Delhi Public School, Howrah on 5th February, 2021. Teesta Bhattacharya of class 9 participated in the event 'Debate' and won the Best Speaker Award.

Sayan Kumar of class VI participated in Spelling Bee 2019-20 and won the first prize at regional level competition.

HMEC students participated in various virtual competitions organised by Little Buddy Talentz in the month of January, 2021 and won 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. Rupkotha Roy of Lower Infant secured 3rd position, Anvi Rej of Upper infant secured 2nd position, Anisha Chakraborty of class 5 secured 2nd position and Soumomoy Chakraborty of class I secured 3rd position in Dance. Rudrasis Halder of class 5 and Sinchan Chatterjee of class XI secured 2nd position and Sahana Dasgupta of class 5 secured 3rd position in Instrumental Music. Rishov Chatterjee of class VIII secured 1st position and Akoparna Dey of class X secured 3rd position in Singing competition.

 

Students of classes VIII & IX went to Chhatra Vyan Samiti, Kolkata (Under CCA Academy) to participate in an Inter School Basket Ball Tournament on 31st March, 2019 and won the runners up position

84th State and Inter District Table Tennis Championship 2018 – Teesta Bhattacharjee of class VII had participated in the 84th State and Inter District Table Tennis Championship 2018 – 2019, organized by Bengal Table Tennis Association, affiliated to Bengal Olympic Association and registered by Dept. Of Sports, Govt of WB, held at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra, Kolkata between 5th to 8th February 2019. She represented Hooghly district and bagged the Winner’s position in Women Team.

National Astronomy and Science Olympiad 2018 - 2019 - Students of class III to X participated in NASO first level examination 2018, out of 9 students got GOLD MEDAL and merit certificate and 3 students are qualified for level 2 exam, they are - Gitam Ghosh (V), Aniruddha Pramanick (V), Kaushani Dutta (V). Other students are `Purnashree Bagchi (III), Shirsendu Pal (IX), Aneesh Banerjee (IX), Rahul Sen (X), Ansh Gupta (X), Anindya Guria (X).

2nd Invitational State karate championship – Shamayita Ghosh of class IV had participated in the 2nd Invitational State Karate Championship 2019 held at Bharat Sevashram Sangha (Raj Srinath Hall) Ballygunge on 19th – 20th January 2019 and was placed FIRST in individual category and placed THIRD in individual Kumite category. The championship was organized by Bharat Sevashram Sangha and Pranavanananda Martial Art and Yoga Association.

20TH BONGO BHUMI CUP (ALL INDIA KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2019) – Shamayita Ghosh of class IV had participated in All India Karate Championship 2019, organized by JTekan Shitoryu Karate – Do Assn. India, Affiliated with Mawateka Shitoryu Karate – Do India, recognized by Govt. Of India (Ministry Of Youth Affairs and Sports) which was held on 13th January 2019 at NKDA Stadium, Newtown and secured the BRONZE medal in the category of “Colour Belt” respectively.

Nabagram Utsab 2019 – Sattik Das of class III had participated in the Nabagram Utsab 2019, organized by Nabagram Panchayat and Nabagram Panchayat Social Welfare Committee and bagged the First position in the Badminton Championship under 10 category, held on 18th January 2019.

CCA ALL BENGAL SCHOOL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2019 – Sourjya Mukherjee of class III had participated in the CCA all Bengal School Chess Championship 2019 under 10 category, held on 13th January 2019 at The Park Institution, Kolkata and was a champion in the said competition.

23rd WEST BENGAL STATE KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2019 – Ankona Das of class V has participated as a competitor in 23rd West Bengal State Karate Championship 2019 held on 4th – 5th January, 2019 at Almohan Das Sport and Cultural Stadium Howrah and secured GOLD Medal. It was organized by Karate – Do – Association of Bengal. Recognized by Government of India (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports).

Kalinga Institute Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar Odisha, organized a state level quiz competition in Kolkata West Bengal on 20th January 2019. Students of HMEC Dheemoyee Deb and Samarjit Santra both have bagged the 3rd prize. Congratulations to both of them.

TTIS Challenge 2018 – 2019 Maitrayee Roy, student of class IX bagged the 1st prize in eastern solo, held at City Centre 1 Salt Lake on 19th January 2019.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2018 State level camp : Shirshendu Pal student of class IX B bagged winner’s place at VVM State level camp, held on 20th January at Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Jadavpur. He has won certificate , memento , Rs 5000 and will be participating in National level camp which will be held in the month of May.

Ujan Ghosh of class X, Gitam Ghosh and Archal Paul of class VI have secured 1st position and Sansthita Nag of class has secured 2nd position in the National Shoto Cup Tournament-2019 organized by Global Shotokan Karate-Do Association of Indial. Gitam Ghosh has also achieved the Champion of Champions title. The tournament took place in Das Nagar Stadium.

Agneebina Ghosh of class X has been declared as the winner in the Regional Level India Spell Bee Competition 2018 - 2019. She is going to compete for the National Championship on 5th August, 2019 which will be held at Satyajit Ray Auditorium, ICCR, Kolkata

An Inter School Debate Competition was organised by Hindmotor High School in Hindmotor Auditorium on Friday the 26th of July, 2019 in which 8 schools had participated. Six students from H.M. Education Centre had participated in the competition and among them three secured positions. Samadrita Mitra of class IX was the winner in Group B, Archisman Chakraborty of class XI was the winner in Group C and Archita Munshi of class IX was the runner up in Group B.

Sub Divisional Council for School Games & Sports, Serampore had organised Karate Championship at Nabagram Vidyapith on 27th July, 2019. In the competition, Tushar Paul of VIII B, Parthiv Biswas of VIII A, Gitam Ghosh of VI A and Archan Paul of VI B won the first prize. Tisha Hemani of IX B and Purab Das of IX C won the second prize.

All Bengal Okinawa Shorin Ryu Karate Do Championship was conducted on 28th July, 2019 at HM Auditorium. In the competition, Tushar Paul of VIII B won the first prize in Kata & Kumate, Parthiv Biswas of VIII A won the first prize in Kumate. Souhardya Bhuiya of VII B won the 2nd prize in Kata & Kumite. Titiksha Chakraborty of X A won the 3rd prize in Kumate.

We feel proud to share that Agnibeena Ghosh of class X was adjudged the 1st runner up in the discipline of Western Vocals (Intermediate Section) in Crescendo X, a musical competition organised by the Calcutta School of Music on 28th July, 2019.

Subdivision Council for School Games and Sports had conducted District Level Badminton Competition on 3rd August, 2019 at Mahadesh Parishad, Konnagar. Ritam Sengupta of class VIII secured the first position, Akriti Singh of class VI secured 2nd position and Sahil Agarwal of class XI secured 4th position in the competition and they were qualified for State Level Competition.

We feel extremely proud to announce that Agnibeena Ghosh of class X has been declared as National Champion - 2nd Runner-up in Grade 5 by India Spell Bee - 2018-2019. The girl stood first in the Eastern Zone. The event was held at Satyajit Ray Auditorium, ICCR, Kolkata on 5th August, 2019.

Calcutta Police Sergeant's Institute had organised Inter School Basketball Tournament on 18th to 20th July, 2019 in which HMEC Basketball team reached semi finals.

Sarthak Chatterjee of class X and Ayush Biswas of class IX had secured the third position in the final round of Annual Independence Day Quiz Competition organised by Uttarpara Sri Aurobindo Parishad on the occasion of the 147th Birth Anniversary of Rishi Aurobindo Ghosh on 15th August, 2019.

The school has been accorded with ‘Excellence in Academics’ for the School Category. Maitrayee Roy of class X has bagged ‘The Award for Outstanding Talent in Music’.

The Inter School Fest - Ecstasy'19 was hosted by H.M. Education Centre which was held on 21st & 22nd August, 2019. Various competitions on offstage, onstage and sports events were held. Total nine schools had participated in the Fest. And H.M. Education Centre was declared the Champion School.

We feel extremely privileged to announce that students of our school had participated in Inter School Swimming Competition which was held in Asian International School, Howrah on 24th August, 2019. The winners of the different categories are 1. Soumi Chowdhury of Class X securing the 2nd position 2. Debayan Das of Class IX securing the 3rd. position 3. Antarip Chowdhury & Tatini Tarafdar of Class VI securing the 3rd. position.

An Inter-school Quiz Competition was organized by Sri Aurobindo Bhavan, Kolkata, on 1st September, 2019, on the occasion of the 147th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo. A quiz based on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Sports, Audio, Cultural Heritage, History and Geography was organized. Five other leading schools of Kolkata along with H. M. Education Centre participated in the quiz competition. Ayush Biswas of class-IX and Sarthak Chatterjee of class-X bagged the winner’s position.

A workshop was conducted for the Pre-Primary level at the Part Hotel, Kolkata on 21st September, 2019. The resource person was Nishi Sehrawat Phogaat. The teachers who attended the workshop were Mrs. Sunita Frances, Mrs. Anita Jain, Mrs. Tina Chatterjee and Mrs. Romi Das.

An Orientation Workshop was held on 19th September, 2019 at Sushila Birla Girls School, Kolkata on the significance of Artificial Intelligence as an emerging technology. Hon'ble Principal Mrs. Ratna Kundu attended the workshop.

A Capacity Building Programme was held on 30th September, 2019 at Asian International School, Dhulagarh organised under CBSE. The resource persons were Ms. Dalia Jana and Ms. Minakshi Das. Kaushik Bandyopadhyay (Sports Teacher) attended the workshop.

A workshop on Artificial Intelligence was organised by CBSE in association with IBM from 23rd to 25th September, 2019 at Apeejay School, Park Street, Kolkata. The resource persons were Mr. Raj Kishore and Mr. Sameer Kumar. The teachers who attended the workshop were Ms. Sudipta Ghosh and Mr. Suvam Das.

An Inter School Literary Meet titled "Words On Wings 2019" was hosted by Shri Shikshayatan Sch;ool on 30th September, 2019. Shreya Khemani of class VI and Agontuk Ghosh of class VIII participated in the Story Writing Session. Ms. Priti Mahajan accompanied the students.

A Capacity Building Programme on Science was held at Birla Bharti School, Taratala, Kolkata on 30th and 31st August, 2019. The workshop was on the question pattern and discussion regarading upcoming board examination. The resource persons were Mr. Ramu Datta from Apeejay School, Parkstreet and Ms. Bhawani Ravishankar from Apeejay School, Saltlake. The workshop was attended by Mrs. Sangita Karar.

A CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Gender Sensitivity was held at Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata by Techno India Group Public School. The workshop was held on 28th August, 2019. The resource person was Ms. Saswati Dasgupta. Mrs. Atrayee Das attended the workshop.

A Capacity Building Programme was held at DPS, Ruby Park, Kolkata on 29th and 30th July, 2019. The topic was "Inclusion and Inclusive Education". The resource person was Ms. Rashmi Mantri. The teachers who attended the workshop were Ms. Sritama Mitra Ghosh and Ms. Dipannita Bhowmick.

A workshop on Inclusive Strategies was conducted by CBSE Centre of Excellence on 28th and 29th June, 2019 at JRS Public School, Uttar Panchpota, Nadia. The resource persons were Ms. Saswati Roy and Ms. Nabamita Das Biswas. The focus of the workshop was the inclusion of children with special needs in the classroom. The workshop was attended by Mrs. Sriparna Chatterjee and Mrs. Urmila Das.

A workshop on PRP Programme was conducted on 24th and 25th June, 2019 at Guru Tegh Bahadur Public School, Durgapur. The workshop was based on Career Guidance for students. The workshop was attended by Mrs. Soma Bhattacharya.

A Capacity Building Programme on Classroom Management was conducted by CBSE at Jyotirmoy Public School on 16th and 17th May, 2019. The resource persons were Dr. Sarkar Prasad Dutta and Ms. Kakali Bagchi. The teachers who attended the workshop were Mrs. Tina Chatterjee and Mrs. Dora Das.

A Capacity Building Programme on Life Skills was conducted by CBSE on 30th September, 2019 at The Town School, Kolkata. The resource person for the workshop was Mrs. Apala Chakraborty. Mrs. Kalpana Mohan and Mrs. Dipsikha Barman attended the workshop.

Four students from HMEC named Krishna Kumar Jha of class X, Arghajit Barman & Adrish Bhattacharya of class IX and Ayush Mishra of class VIII were selected in district level basketball tournament organised by Sub Division Council for School Games and Sports.

Sourjya Mukherjee had participated in the 57th West Bengal State Fide Rated Open Chess Championship 2019 held at Govt. College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology , Kolkata from 9th to 13th October, 2019. He has secured the 4th place (under 11) in the competition.

The Sports Meet 2019 was held in Aloysius Orphanage and Day School, Howrah on 22nd and 23rd October, 2019. Souvik Saha and Biswadeep Chowdhury of class 5 won the 1st position in Table Tennis Doubles. Biswadeep Chowdhury of class 5 won 3rd position in Table Tennis Singles. Arko Ghosh of class 6 won 3rd position in Chess. Aritra Bhattacharya of class 9 won 3rd position in Obstacle Race. School Basketball team won the 3rd position. H.M. Education Centre has also won the 2nd runner-up position in the Sports Meet.

Souradrita Sarkar of class 6 won Silver Medal in Bengal State Inter District Table Tennis Champiionship 2019 (Cadet Girls Group). She won Silver Medal in Table Tennis Championship (Under 14 Girls) organised by West Bengal State Council For School Games and Sports .

DPS, Howrah organised "Sports-a-thelon" on 1st November, 2019 in their school premises. HMEC students participated in various events and won the prizes. Debanshu Das of class III, Trishanjit Dasgupta & Anisha Chakraborty of class IV, Aditya Mukherjee of class V won 2nd position in Aquaholic, 3rd position in Fut-O-Magic & Hit the Target. Antarip Chowdhury of class VI, Rishav Chatterjee of class VII, Sunayana Goswami & Shrijita Chakraborty of class VIII won 1st prize in Foot-O-Magic and Hit The Target and won 2nd prize in Aquaholic. Aniket De of class IX, Soham Das & Soumi Chowdhury of class X and Hindol Chatterjee of class XI won 2nd prize in Foot-O-Magic & Aquaholic.

Sourjya Mukherjee of class IV had participated in the 1st BDCA DSA Fide Rated Open Chess Tournament organised by BDCS DSA Durgapur from 31st October to 3rd November, 2019. He scored 5 points in 8 rounds and was placed 2nd in the merit list in U-11 category.

A Scramble Competition was conducted by Collins on 15th November, 2019 at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata. Rishov Chatterjee of Class VII C won the 2nd position and Ishi Jha of class VI A won the 3rd position in the competition.

Souradrita Sarkar of class 6 participated in UTT 81st Cadet & Sub-Junior National & Inter-State Table Tennis Championship - 2019 held at Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh from 16th to 22nd November, 2019. She won 3-0 against Karnataka, 3-0 against North Bengal and lost 1-3 against Maharashtra

Ankona Das of class 5 had participated in the 27th Open International Karate Championship on 20th January, 2019 at Barasat and won the first position. She also participated in ALSOC on 27th January, 2019 at Kolkata and secured the first position.

Ankona Das of class 6 had participated in the Best of Best Championship of Karate on 25th May, 2019 held at Konnagar and secured 1st place and 2nd place in two different categories.

Ankona Das of class 6 had participated in the 5th International Karate Championship held at Kolkata on 27th July, 2019 and secured 1st position in Kata and 2nd position in Team Kata.

Ankona Das of class 6 had participated in the Karate Do Association State Championship - 2019-2020 organised by Shinkai Shito-Ryu Karate Do Association held on 17th November, 2019 and was declared the winner. She had been the winner for three consecutive years. She won the Gold Medals for the year 2017, 2018 and 2019

Agnibeena Ghosh of class X has been declared as winner for the 2nd prize for 3rd National Essay Contest - 2019 organised by AIPMA (The All India Plastics Manufacturers Association). She will be faeicitated on 17th January, 2020 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon East Mumbai in a mega event "Plastivisim India - 2020"

Sejuti Ghosh of class 7, Aritra Dutta of class 8 and Sarthak Chatterjee of class 10 appeared for the preliminary level of VVM competition conducted on 23rd and 30th November, 2019 and were selected for State Camp of VVM 2019-2020.

TTIS Challenge 2020 was organised by Subhash Bose Institute of Hotel Management at City Centre 1, Kolkata from 16th to 19th January, 2020. HMEC students participated in Creative Writing, Fusion Band, Street Play and Fashion Parade. HMEC bagged the 2nd runners-up position in Fashion Parade. Riya Khaitan of class 11 won the Best Model Female Prize.

Sourjya Mukherjee of class 6 participated in The Telegraph Schools' Chess Championship 2019 which was organised by Alekhine Chess Club. The competition was held at Gorky Sadan, Kolkata from 13th to 18th December, 2019 and he won the first prize (U-10B) in the competition.

Shirshendu Pal of class 10 secured the second position in the State Level VVM - 2019-2020 and qualified for the National Level. The State Level Competition was held at Bose Institute, Salt Lake, Kolkata on 2nd February, 2020.

Archan Pal of class 6 won the Gold Medal in the "5th Netaji Subhas Cup - 2020", International Karate Championship organised by Global Shotokan Karate - Do Association of India. The championship was held on 23rd January, 2020 at Allamohan Das Indore Stadium, Howrah.

Sur-O-Sangeet 2018 was held in the school premises of HMEC on 10th October '18 in which four schools participated namely - Army Public School, DPS North Kolkata, H.M High School and H.M Education Centre respectively. H.M Education Centre won the Champion's Trophy as a winning team.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME -A workshop on CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Remodeled Structure of Assessment, held on 11th November 2018 at JRS Public School, Nadia, organised by CBSE COE Bhubaneswar. Seven (7) students of Class IX of H.M. Education Centre went for National Cadet Corps Training to the Training Camp that took place from 23rd September to 1st October. The students resided at the Church Bell School in Raghunathpur, Makhla. They had a new experience there and learnt a token of things about army and successfully completed the training.

An online creative writing context was organized by the newspaper ‘Young Metro’ on the topic, ‘I want to be a Young Metro Force member because…..’. An ‘Inter-School Quiz Competition’ was organized by Uttarpara Sri Aurobindo Parishad in association with Sri Aurobindo Trust on the occasion of India’s 72nd Independence Day at Asha Purna Devi Hall, Uttarpara. Sarthak Chatterjee and Dhemoyee Deb represented our school & secured the 2nd position in the Quiz Competition. Besides the scheduled award which was given on that day to the participants, one special award in the form of a book named ‘Sri Aurobindo, The Story of his Life’ has come from Sri Aurobindo Bhawan, Kolkata.

Ujan Ghosh had participated in the 7th Hooghly District Kanninjuku Shotokan Karate Championship 2018 on 13th May 2018 and was placed 1st under 14-15 yrs age.

Ankona Das had participated in 4th International Karate Championship 2018 on 28th and 29th July 2018 at Netaji Indoor Stadium representing India and secured 2 gold in Kata Junior.

Ankona Das had participated in the 17th All India Inter School & senior karate Championship on May 26th and 27th and secured Gold and Silver medal in Kata, Junior.

Soumi Chowdhury student of class-IX of “H.M. Education Centre” has secured 2nd position in 50m Backstroke, 2nd position in 100m Backstroke & 3rd position in 200m Backstroke in the swimming competition organized by “District Swimming Association (Hooghly)”, held at Bashberia. She has also qualified for the State Meet in 50m and 100m Backstroke.

Students of H.M. Education Centre have made the school proud of their achievements by participating in the Inter School Yuva Musical Festival presented by musiCEA International Music Exams & organised by Academy for Musical Excellence. The finals were held on 14th July in Gyan Manch where Moitrayee Roy of class-IX bagged the 1st position in Bollywood Vocal. Aadipta Sengupta of class-VIII secured the 2nd position in Guitar and equally proficient was the band performance by Moitrayee Roy, Agnibeena Ghosh, Aadipta Sengupta, Aneesh Banerjee and Abir Halder who triumphed with the 2nd position.

The resource person provided us with the evaluative methods to be adopted as per CBSE. A feedback form was given to fill up at end of the workshop. The workshop was really effective as it mainly focused on new methodologies of teaching and class room management.

Workshop on Awakened Citizen Programme : A workshop on “The Awakened Citizen Programme” conducted by Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi held on 23rd and 24th April 2018 at Ramakrishna Mission, Golpark. Debarpan Bandyopadhyay of class XI was declared the winner in Extempore competition (age group 16 - 40) in the Zonal Level Cultural Competition organised by West Bengal Government's Youth Welfare and Sports Department held in the month of December 2018.

A Recitation Competition was organized by Shri Shri Saradamoni Pratisthan, Nabagram, Hooghly on 22nd January, 2017. Rihit Pal of class II won the second prize in the competition (Group A)

Srishti Roy student of class-III had participated in the West Bengal State & Inter District Table Tennis Championship 2017 held between 21st to 25th November at Kshudiram Anushilan Kendra, Kolkata as Player in the Nursery & Cadet Girls team event from Hooghly District.

The "National Level Science Exhibition 2016-2017" was held at N C Jindal Public School, New Delhi on 8th, 9th and 10th February, 2017. Somaditya Santra of class 9 and Diptanuj Sarkar of class 8 have won the FIRST PRIZE in the science exhibition for their model titled "ASSIST - Arduino and Sonic Sensors in a Small Torch". The two students have exhibited the same model in the "Regional Level Science Exhibition - 2016" which was conducted on 17th to 20th December, 2017 at Birla Bharati School, Kolkata and qualified for this National Level Exhibition. Both the students were awarded by the CBSE with a Merit Certificate and Rs. 3000/- cash.

The "International Assessment for Indians" was conducted for classes 3 to 9 by UNSW Global Australia at school premises on 26th & 29th August, 2016. Total 101 students participated in English, Mathematics, Science and Digital Technology. Among them 5 students secured High Distinction, 28 students secured Distinction.

A Mental Maths Competition was conducted by Ignited Mind Lab in November, 2016 at school premises and the following students were qualified for the Grand Finale. Rohan Mondal, Navin Kumar Singh & Shreya Khemani of class III. Souhardya Bhuiya, Saprativ Paul & Sejuti Ghosh of class IV. Anubhav Banik, Soumadipta Prosad, Saransh Agarwal, Aritra Dutta & Sparsh Poddar of class V. Sumana Ray of class VI. Muskan Saraogi, Sangneel Deb, Sarthak Chatterjee, Aneesh Banerjee & Shirsendu Paul of class VII. The Grand Finale will be held at St. Joseph's Convent, Chandannagar on 5th February, 2017

"Unified Council - Hyderabad" conducated a Unified Cyber Olympiad on 20th October, 2016 at school premises. Sk Mehreen Sultana of class II and Gitam Ghosh of class III were qualified for the 2nd level which will be held at St. Paul's School, Kolkata on 5th February, 2017

A Science Test titled "Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM)" was conducted by "Vigyan Prasar & Vigyan Bharati - The Chief Scientific Societies of India", in association with CBSE and NCERT. The competition was conducted at school premises. 20 students from H.M. Education Centre have passed the two levels "Prathama" and "Dwitiya" and qualified for the State Level Competition. Sarthak Chatterjee of class VII secured 4th position in this State Level Competition which was held at Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Kolkata on 3rd February, 2017.

A spelling contest was conducted by Linc Executive Pens on 6th February, 2017 at school premises for the classes 7 to 9. Rini Talukder of class 9 won the first position, Ahana Banerjee of class 9 won the second position and Swayamdeepta Das of class 9 won the third position in the competition.

6th All Bengal Kanninjuku Karate Do Championship 2017 was held at Khudiram Anusilan Kendra, Kolkata on 19th and 20th of August 2017, and Ankona Das of class IV was placed first in the individual Karate Event for Girls in Junior Category.

The "Science and Technology Fair and Exhibition (STFE - 2017) was organized by Vivekananda Vijnana Mission (VVM) jointly with Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) from 25th to 27th March, 2017 at Kolkata. Diptanuj Sarkar of class VIII, Debarpan Bandopadhyay of class VII and Sarthak Chatterjee of class VII won the 1st prize in the Junior Category of Model Display.

Ankona Das of Class-IV has in recognition of her achievements in Karate-Do been recognised as SHO-DAN and included in the records of Karate Association of India on 31st May, 2017

Sarthak Chatterjee and Shirsendu Pal of class VIII, sec: C, participated in a quiz contest which was held at 91.9 Friends FM’s office which was on the 9th floor in Saket Building opposite to Apeejay School, Park street. Different schools participated in the quarter final round with each other where our students were to compete with the students of MP Birla High School. The students of H. M. Education Centre brilliantly qualified the quarter final round and reached the semi finals with a score of more than 500 points.

The students of H.M.Education Centre, Soumyajit Sarkar of class IX and Rini Talukder of Class X bagged the trophy of Runner’s Up of Season -6 of TTIS Quiz held at 91.9 Friends FM’s Office on 6th September 2017 .

3rd International Open Karate Championship 2017 was held on 29th & 30th July, 2017 at Netaji Indoor Stadium Kolkata, West Bengal, Ankona Das had participated as a competitor and secured Gold Medal in Sub-Junior Kata 9 Year's Girls Category.

Soumi Chowdhury of class VIII, sec: B, secured the 3rd place in 50m backstroke, 2nd place in 100m Backstroke, and 2nd place in 200m backstroke in West Bengal State Age Group Swimming Championship 2017 held in Burdwan from 8th to 11th June 2017.

Kanninjuku National Karate Championship 2017 was held at Khandala, Maharastra in May, 2017 Ankona Das of Class-IV had won a Silver Medal in Kumite Category

Soumi Chowdhury of class VIII secured victorious positions in the CBSE Zonal Inter School Swimming Competition 2017-18, organised by Sheyn International School Jamshedpur from 5th to 7th October, 2017. Soumi secured 1st position in the 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke and 3rd position in 50m Free Style and Breast Stroke events in the Under -17 age group category.

A handwriting competition was organised at the school premises by International Handwriting Olympiad Organisation in the month of July 2017. Around 100 students participated in the event in three different categories. Nabanita Chowdhury of Upper Infant is awarded the 1 St prize in Group A , Avinaba Chakraborty of class II is awarded the 1 St prize in Group B , Aranya Chakraborty of VII is awarded the 1 St prize in Group C .

Aheli Ghosh and Anupriya Singh of H M Education Centre participated in 4th Junior Targetball Naional Championship,2017-18, affiliated to Bhartiya Targetball Association, held at Noida College of Physical Education, Uttarpradesh from 25th December to 28th December 2017. They have Secured second runners up position in the same.

A science exhibition cum competition was organised by Marks Loft and Young Metro in association with BITM at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum on 15th and 16th December 2017. Around 250 schools from West Bengal have participated in the event. Sarthak Chatterjee of class – VIII, H M Education Centre - won the first position in the exhibition.

A science talent search examination named Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan was organised on 26th November 2017 by Vigyan Bharthi and NCERT. The examination was conducted online. Sarthak Chatterjee of class VIII won the ‘District Topper’ position in Hooghly district.

Unified International English Olympiad (UIEO) was conducted by Brain Mapping Academy and Unified Council on 17th November 2017. The examination was conducted inside the school premises. Sarthak Chatterjee of class – VIII, H M Education Centre – won the national achievers position by securing All India rank 45.

Unified Cyber Olympiad (UCO) was conducted by Brain Mapping Academy and Unified Council on 11th October 2017. The examination was conducted inside the school premises. Sarthak Chatterjee of class – VIII, H M Education Centre – was qualified for the second level to be held at St. Pauls School; Kolkata on 4th February 2018.

Aheli Ghosh and Anupriya Singh of H M Education Centre participated in 5th Junior Targetball Naional Championship,2017-18 held at Nizampet Telangana from 22nd September to 25th September 2017. They have Secured second position in the same. Aheli Ghosh (Captain) was selected as All India Best Shooter.

Arko Ghosh of Class IV participated in the 3rd MCA all Bengal U-16 Rapid Chess Tournament, organised by Modern Chess Academy, Rishra. The tournament was held at Bidhan Chandra College Rishra from 30.12.2017 to 31.12.2017. He scored 4 1/2 points out of possible 8(eight) points.

Soutrik Roy , Anindya Guria, Diptanuj Sarkar and Debarpan Bandopadhyay (Class IX) of H.M. Education Centre have participated in the “CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition” .The Exhibition was held from 8th to 10th January, 2018 at Apeejay School, Kolkata. Two models were exhibited on two different categories : Maths model titled “Bhavishyavani” and a model on technology named “Thigmo-Audio”. Both the models were qualified for the National Level.

On 11th December 2017 the students of H.M.Education Centre participated in Mental Maths Competition by Ignited Mind Lab where out of 189 students, 184 appeared and 13 students between (III to VII) reached the grand finale.

A Science exhibition on the topic – ‘Save The Environment’ conducted by CBSE Sahodaya School in association with Sushila Birla Girls School on 5th January 2018. Mahasweta Bhoumik , Kaushani Ballav ,Dheemoyee Deb ,Sarthak Chatterjee of class – VIII, H M Education Centre, participated in the exhibition. Sarthak Chatterjee demonstrated his innovation named ECOSOL in this exhibition.

TTIS in association with Young Metro conducted off stage and on stage events on 18th. and 21st. January 2018 at City Centre 1 [Saltlake]. Agnibeena Ghosh of Class VIII got the 3rd. Prize in creative writing and Maitrayee Roy of Class VIII got the 1st prize in singing competition.

On 17th. November 2017 Unified International English Olympiad was conducted in the school premises of H M Education Centre. Out of 24 students who appeared in the Olympiad, 4 got the Merit Student Awards. Mehreen Sultana of Class III was the class topper and her National Rank was 2406. Sejuti Ghosh of Class V was the class topper and her National Rank was 2490. Sarthak Chatterjee of Class VIII got the National Rank 45 and Agnibeena Ghosh of Class VIII got Rank 3 in zone 13 and National Rank 248.

Adrija Banerjee of class VIII , participated in the 41st All India Talent Search Programme (session 2016-17) held during 10th to 14th January 2018 at Sanskrit Bhawan, Kolkata. She scored 71% in Nazrulgeet and secured the 3rd position.

An Inter-School debate was conducted by H.M. Schools Management on 11th May, 2016 at Hindmotor High School. Two teams have participated in the debate from H.M. Education Centre - one for Hndi Debate and the other for English Debate. The topic for Hindi Debate was "Sanskar Janm Jath Nahin Hota Hai, Uska Nirman Karna Padta Hai" and the topic for English Debate was "Is Competition Necessary for Learning Process ?". The Hindi team bagged the first position in the debate and the English team won the second position. The participants of Hindi Debate: Rohit Jain, Srishti Pandey, Ankita Moth and Ayush Sharma. The participants of English Debate: Rohan Brahmachary, Arpitrama Bhowmik, Swayamdipta Das and Somnath Bose.

Soumi Chowdhury of class VII participated in the "District Age Group Swimming Championship - 2016", held at Chinsurah Swimming Club Course, Chinsurah, Hooghly, on 14th and 15th May, 2016. She secured First Position in 50 metres Back Stroke and Third Position in 100 metres Back Stroke for Girls - Group II

Aheli Ghosh, a student of Class IX of H.M. Education Centre represented West Bengal in the "3rd Sub Junior Targetball National Championship 2016-2017". The championship was held at SAI SWC, Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 3rd July to 6th July, 2016. It was organised by 'Gujarat Targetball Association' affiliated to the 'Bharatiya Targetball Association'. She has also been selected for 'Junior India Targetball Team' through which she will represent our country in the International Championship which will be held in the month of August, 2016 in Bangladesh. It was indeed a marvelous achievement of the student for the school.


Bhaswati Roy and Soumili Chandra of class IX participated in "The Hindu Chess Competition 2016", organized by "The Thyrocare", at National Boys High School, Hazra on 30th & 31st July, 2016. Around 250 schools from all over West Bengal participated in the competition where Bhaswati Roy secured the 3rd position and Soumili Chandra secured the 4th position.

Shirsendu Paul, a student of class VII from H.M. Education Centre achieved the 3rd position in Southern Zone, in a 'Talent Reward Examination' conducted by FIITJEE, a coaching institute in Kolkata which offers various programmes to the students of classes VI to XII aspiring to excel in various national level competitive examinations. H.M. Education Centre congratulates the boy for his achievement.


Sourjya Mukherjee of class I attained the 1st division in Pre-primary II Examination 2015-2016 - Fine Arts from the Bharatiya Charukala Mandir, West Bengal.

Swastika Banerjee of class VI participated in the "2nd International Open Karate Championship - 2016", held on 5th to 7th August 2016 at 'Khudiram Anushilon Kendra', Netaji Indoor Stadium. The competition was organized by "All India Seishinkai Shito Ryu Karate - Do Federation". Swastika secured Gold Medal in KATA - KA-25 in below 12 years category and Bronze Medal in KUMITE - KU - 52 below 12 years category.


Rajeswari Chowdhury of class I is a budding artist. She appeared for 'Chitram' part II examination from Sarva Bharatiya Charu Kala Mandir, West Bengal and passed the examination in first division and secured distinction in practical examination.

Somnath Bose and Sukrit Chattopadhyay of class IX participated in the annual CBSE cryptic crossword competition - 2016, which was held at Lakshmipati Singhania Academy on 9th August, 2016. About 26 schools from and around Kolkata participated in the competition and H.M. Education Centre was one of them.

Sayan Banerjee of class 1 is an extremely talented child. At the tender age of six, has learnt the sacred verses of Chandipath. His parents have recorded his recitation on a CD.


Sourjya Mukherjee of class 1 represented West Best Bengal in the "30th National - Under 7 - Open Chess Championship - 2016" held at Pondicherri from 19th Sept, 2016 to 27th Sept, 2016. The Championship was organized by Pondicherry State Chess Association. Sourjya Mukherjee scored 6 points out of 11 rounds

An Inter School Fest titled "Augustus Auxesis" was organized by St. Augustine Day School, Barrackpore in association with The Telegraph Young Metro, on 1st & 3rd October, 2016. HMEC students participated in various competitions held in the Fest and emerged victorious in a few events. The HMEC Band won the 2nd prize in "Band - Augustus Lore", Arijit Roy won the 3rd prize in Face Painting and Rupsa Chatterjee won a consolation prize in 'Questionnaire'

Soumi Chowdhury of class VII represented West Bengal in the CBSE “Far East Zone Swimming Meet” organized by Royal Global School, Guwahati from 29th Sept to 1st Oct, 2016. She secured the 2nd position in “Under 14 – 100 metres Back Stroke – Girls” and 3rd position in “Under 14 – 50 metres Back Stroke – Girls” and qualified for the National Level Swimming Contest

An Inter-School Karate Championship titled "All Bengal Inter School Invitational Karate-Do Championship 2016" was organized by "Japan Shotokan Karate-Do Kanninjuku Association of West Bengal" at Hindmotor High School on 23rd October, 2016. The students of HMEC won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in various categories and age groups. Sujal Jaiswal, Raj Kumar Mondal, Sumit Modi and Shreya Gupta of class VI; Aryan Chaturvedi of class VII; Anant Sharma of class VIII; Vasudha Singh of class IX won the medals.

H.M. Education Centre hosted an Inter-School Singing competition titled "Sur-O-Sangeet - 2016" on 4th November, 2016 at school premises. There were four categories in the competition - "Classical - Solo", "Western - Solo", "Group - Indian" and "Group - Indo-western". Total 6 schools participated in the event. H.M. Education Centre won the Champion Trophy by securing first position in all four categories.

An Inter-School Basketball Championship was organized by BSS School, Kolkata, in association with CCA Academy on 3rd December, 2016 at BSS School. HMEC Basketball team participated in the championship

Sukrit Chattopadhyay and Somaditya Santra of class IX participated in an Inter-School Quiz Competition at St. Stephen's School on 2nd December, 2016. The quiz was organized by The Telegraph Young Metro. The two participants of our school secured the 3rd position in the competition.

CBSE has organized a “Regional Level Science Exhibition” at Birla Bharati School, Kolkata from 17th to 20th December, 2016. Total 103 models and projects were exhibited by 31 schools located in the Eastern Region of India. H.M. Education Centre has exhibited two projects. Among all HMEC secured third position and qualified for the “National Level Science Exhibition” which is going to be held at Delhi. One Mathematics Presentation titled “In Search of Nothing” was presented by Rudrajit Dey and Om Chatterjee of class IX. The other one was a science model designed by Diptanuj Sarkar of class VIII and Somaditya Santra of class IX for the visually impaired and was selected for the National Level Exhibition. This was a head mounted device that uses ultra sonic sensors to identify the objects and hazards around the wearer and navigates them to their destination.

An “All India colouring and Handwriting Competition” was organized by Rainbow Art Centre, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Around 80 students participated in the competition from H.M. Education Centre for different levels. Among them 9 students were awarded with Gold Medals. Aaditree Das of Lower Infant, Vedansh Ray & Sanchita Polley of Upper Infant, Anisha Chakraborty of class I, Saranya Mukherjee & Sansthita Nag of class III, Prattay Paul of class IV, Sarthak Chatterjee of class VII and Koyena Nandi of class VIII won the Gold Medals.

SUR – O – SANGEET, an Inter-school Singing Competition was held on 16th October 2015 in the H. M. Education Centre School Campus. The participating schools were H. M. Education Centre and Hind Motor High School. The eminent panel of judges comprised of Mrs. Sraboni Chatterjee, Mrs. Gargi Chatterjee, Mr. Dipak Bhattacharya and Mr. D. Madhusudan. The categories for the competition were Semi classical and Folk song for Solo Performance and Indi POP – Hindi & Bengali – for Group Performance. The purpose of the competition was to bring together both budding and upcoming talents to test and have their abilities and the students excelled in their performance. There was a perfect blend of Sur, Taal and Raag in which two students of H. M. Education Centre secured the first positions for the Solo Performances. Students of Hind Motor High School won prizes for Group Performances and were awarded the Champion Trophy.

Sahana Dasgupta of Upper Infant C from H. M. Education Centre participated in Rabindra Sangeet competition organized by Nabagram Satirtha Welfare Society and was placed in First Position. She was awarded a certificate of Honour. The school is proud of her achievement.


Debapriya Chakraborty of Upper Infant C from H. M. Education Centre participated in Samasamaik Nritya Competition organized by Nabagram Satirtha Welfare Society and was placed in Second Position at the cultural competition 2015. The school wishes her all the best for the future.


Mahak Jain and Himangshu Gupta of our school had participated in CBSE Cryptic Crossword Competition 2015 which was held on 6th July 2015 at Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Kolkata.


Students of H. M. Education Centre have been participating in different activities throughout the year and proving their excellence. Sourjya Mukherjee of Upper Infant had actively participated in the 37th District Chess Championship held on 27th and 28th June 2015 at Nilkantha Lodge, Mogra organised by Oikya Sammilani, Uogra, Hooghly. UTTARPARA GYMNASTIC CLUB had organized its Annual show on 22nd March 2015.Several participants from different age groups had actively participated in the show in which Rupomay Barua ,a student of class –I, of H.M.EDUCATION CENTRE,HINDMOTOR,HOOGHLY, walked away proudly by bagging the Best Gymnast Trophy 2015 for his remarkable performance. The school feels proud to share that Rupomay has attended summer camps in various units of Hooghly District and had also participated in District Level Gymnastic Competition two times and has successfully completed the two events. He was selected by the Railway Authority of India at Sealdah DRM Building. The school congratulates him for his endeavour and wishes him ALL THE BEST !

CARNE—VALE 2015 was held in South City International School from 17th May—24th May. Around 25 schools along with 700 students participated in different events. Students of H. M. Education Centre won medals in different categories.

Bhaswati Roy of class 7 C won the 4th position in the “6th HDCA FIDE Rated International Open Chess Tournament” organized by “Howrah District Chess Association” on 3rd Jan, 2014.


Rupsa Chatterjee of class 8 B bagged 2nd position in an Inter School Dance Competition titled “Talent Search Examination” organized by “Sarbabharatiya Sangeet-O-Sansriti Parishad” on 15th Jan, 2014 at Gyan Manch, Kolkata.

Somaditya Santra of Class 7 C secured 1st rank in West Bengal State, in “National Level Science Talent Search Examination - 2014” (NSTSE) organized by “Unified Council India” on 2nd Feb, 2014.

Soumili Chandra of Class 7 C won the 5th position in a Chess Tournament titled “1st IMT All India FIDE Rating” organized by “All India Chess Federation” on 4th April 2014 in Puri, Odisha.

Ahona Sadhu of Class 8 C and Somaditya Santra of class 7 C won the 1st position in the District Level “Bournvita Quiz Contest” organized by “Derek O’Brien and Associates” on 5th May, 2014 at Ram Gopal Manch, Howrah and qualified for the Zonal Round of the competition.


Shalini Ghosh bagged the 2nd position and Adrija Bose secured the 3rd position in an Inter School Essay Writing Competition organized by “Sri Aurobindo Parishad” on the occasion of 106th Uttarpara Speech Day of Sri Aurobindo, on 11th May, 2014 at Aurobindo Bhavan, Uttarpara.

i) Adrita Roy Chowdhury and Ronit Roy won the 1st and 2nd positions respectively in an “Inter School Debate Competition” (Engish) organized by “HM Schools Managing Committee” on 15th May, 2014 at HM Auditorium, Hindmotor. ii) Neha Mishra won the 1st position in the above said competition for Hindi Debate.


Five students went to IIT Kharagpur, one of the premier Engineering Institute of India, to attend a seminar on “Cyber Crime” on the occasion of their Foundation Day which was celebrated on 18th Aug, 2014.
