About Us

When our beloved motherland, India, after tearing off the shackles, tearing of about two hundred years of British bondage, was just trying to heal her multiple deep wounds, then authorities of Hindustan Motors Ltd., were gracious enough to lay the foundation of this institution on the very auspicious day of 13th August 1953. Then it was, no-doubt, a very small unit named as Hind Motor Primary School, subsequently, however, the school was accorded recognition as a Primary School (I-IV) by the District School Board, Hooghly, w. e. f. 1/1/1956.

Then in 1962, the Hon’ble Secretary, WBBSE, accorded first recognition to this school as a High School (upto X class) w.e.f. 1/1/1962.

After that this institution was upgraded by the WBCHSE upto (10+2) Higher Secondary School. At present Humanities, Science and commerce subjects are being taught here. It is a Co-educational School, following English medium from Nursery to XII & Hindi medium of instructions from (v to x)

Now we pay our heartfelt respect to those dedicated teachers and persons who were interested in education, and nurtured that nascent institution with hard toil, wangled with deep love and affection and helped the baby institution to reach this robust adulthood.

The three fold manifestation of education is the motto of Hind Motor High School. According to the great saint Swami Vivekananda –

‘Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man.’

So, if perfection is the aim of education then to attain perfection one cannot deny the light of education and education in its turn cannot be complete and wholesome without the value of truth inculcated in the minds of the disciples.

Again the state of perfection is in itself the state of Almighty – the divinity which we believe to be the basic component of every soul. So, education if does not lead to perfection then it cannot be fruitful. Also, whatever has to be perfect will truly have to have beauty radiated from within.

Thus, through educating in Hind Motor High School, we aim at attaining perfection where truth and beauty would be one.

Creating better human beings we, the teachers and students of HMHS, commit ourselves to create a more just and humane society in our country. The inspiration provided by our founding fathers way back in 1953 continues to strengthen this commitment.

Dear Parents, Students and Friends,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the school Website. I’m sure that this new initiative would help all of you who are in some way or other connected with this school as students and their parents, alumni, collaborators and well-wishers to make yourselves up-to-date with all the happenings in this esteemed institution.

When Hind Motor High School was established some 60 years ago, its founders had the vision to develop the region. Their main aim was to promote education to improve the quality and standard of life of the community. When we look at the number of students those who have graduated from this prestigious institution and the mark they have made in National and International level through their vision and personality, I can with great confidence affirm that the dream of the founder member has been fulfilled to a great extent. But we still need to do more as there are many more challenges ahead.

I’m sure the new website will bring us together to pursue the school work, in a more efficient manner. This is great tool through which we get connected, in today’s world “SPEED” as a great importance.

Here to remind you what Mahatma Gandhi said, “A small body of determined spirits, fixed by an unquenchable faith in their mission, can alter the course of history.”

We are a widely recognized school in Hind Motor with an enviable record of academic, sporting and cultural achievements and successes. Our committed and dedicated staff continue to work with a talented and motivated student body, on a regular basis.

I feel privileged to welcome you to the official website of Hind Motor High School, Hind Motor, Hooghly. Institutions are born when men have a cause, a faith, a determination and a vision. We talk on buildings and structures but it is not the stone walks that make our institute. It is what goes on within these walks.

Today when the world is in a state of intellectual turmoil, there is tremendous dissatisfaction with the existing conditions. Far reaching changes are taking place before our eyes. The rapidly changing times demand equally paced education and the multidimensional facets of our society require healthy, social, cultural and academic development. Keeping with the times, at HM High School we embark upon a journey-a journey that begins here, but culminates with your child growing up to a flux of new ideas.

The children today in the relativity of the own dimensions and those of the world around grow up as strong, enlightened and awakened individuals. They become global leaders in their respective areas, armed with innovative ideas, cultural and traditional values and with the ability to contribute to the world in general and the nation in particular. As on today, in this era of knowledge we need to update our awareness every moment otherwise we will be left behind in the race for survival.

I can confidently say that on completion of studies at Hind Motor High School, every child will be fully prepared to take on a role of useful and responsible citizen of the world. . In times to come the schools will break the general trend to judge a child with the help of traditional evaluation system in form Progress Report Card. We will focus on making a child a good human being who will be polite, humble, kind-hearted, co-operative, disciplined and punctual. If these virtues are embedded in our children, they will surely be successful both in their academic lives as well as in their future professional careers. We from the very beginning of a child’s schooling at Hind Motor High School will focus on his/her wholesome learning using a number of methods, devices and techniques; hence allowing the child to imbibe lessons thoroughly and apply them to real life situations. To make this possible we have our specially designed ICT modules for every lesson to make learning joyful and meaningful through our smart board driven teaching learning process.

English is by no mean a language alone. It is a tool and communication technology.
